Sustainable sourcing is not just essential for the
future of the environment and the people behind fashion- it also makes
commercial sense.
This masterclass will allow you to look in depth with experts and practitioners at the manufacturing challenges facing your business. Explore the options available to you to manufacture in a way that maximises benefits to people and minimises impact on the environment.
Masterclass: Sustainable Manufacture
This will be facilitated by Paul Yuille, THTC and Prama Bhadwaj, Mantis World.
Tuesday 21st April, 2-5pm at Rich Mix
Register now to secure your space.
This masterclass looks in more depth at topics discussed in the seminar on sustainable manufacture on the 17th March.
Paul Yuille trained as a designer but has extensive production management experience in the mainstream fashion industry, having supplied and produced designs for practically everyone on the UK High St. He was Head of Design and Production at Hemp pioneers THTC, and is well versed on bringing in on time and budget and believes that by improving the methods of communication with suppliers and manufacturers many production issues can be avoided. Additionally he lectures at Central St Martins College and Chelsea School of Art and Design in both Product development and Textile design.
Prama Bhardwaj is founder and Managing Director of Mantis World – importers and wholesalers of ethically sourced clothing. Launched in 1999 they work primarily with their family-owned vertical mill in Tanzania employing over 2000 workers and offer a fully transparent supply chain certified by GOTS and compliant with BSCI. Other supply routes include textile mills in Turkey for fast production, operating on the same criteria of sustainability and transparency.
